Sputniko! – Musician BIO
Sputniko! is an experimental cyber pop musician and performance artist based in London. Sputniko! has composed music since 2006, collaborating with artists such as film composer Taro Nijikama (Shiranui/360°records) and DJ Codomo (Kiiiiiii producer). Sputniko!’s music is known for its catchy and upbeat tunes which playfully critique the post-modern society. Her influences include Laurie Anderson, Miranda July, and extreme J-Pop. Since 2007 she has performed in tours and festivals worldwide with acts including Japanese pop legends Shonen Knife, De De Mouse, Damo Suzuki (ex-Can), Terre Thaemlitz and Tujiko Noriko. Sputniko! also composes music for films, and her tracks have been aired in Ident movies for MTV Networks International in 2008.
